Since 1891, Frost - Mora has been making high quality knives. The laminated steel grade is unique to their knives. The core of the blade is a high carbon tool steel surrounded by a lighter alloy steel layer set in a solid birch handle. Looking for an inexpensive, high quality knife... Frost - Mora is a great choice.
A bit of history ... Yes, Mike bought Ron Wells' knife making business quite awhile ago. Yes, he made the knives just like Ron did for as long as he could. No, they are not made that way now. The industrial hack saw blades Ron used to use are no longer available. Mike is using the same O1 tool steel that he uses on his OCC Tools (formerly "Denny Tools"). He still is putting walnut handles on his knives, but now finishes them with a matte finish instead of an oil finish. The 5 Mike Shipley knives offered come with the OCCT logo on the handles.
These are some tools that we didn't have a place to put them!
The Murphy knife has been a tradition of American craftmanship for many years. Your choice of two sizes - both are available sharpened or unsharpened.
Old world quality goes into the manufacture of these knives. The finest German steel and years of craftsmanship are evident in every Solingen tool.
